Lang was established in 1904 when Frank Lang introduced his design for a smoke burning range to the world. Over the next four decades the Lang brand developed and innovated the residential electric range and built a strong presence in the marine cooking equipment market. In 1950 Lang moved their focus to commercial kitchen equipment and in 1960, Lang developed the first commercial electric convection oven. In the decades following their successful transition to the commercial market, Lang developed 2-sided Clamshell griddle cooking technology (1980s), the weight-of-the-plate cheesemelter (1970s), along with numerous advancements in their oven, range, and marine offerings. Acquired by Middleby in 2006, Lang is a leader in commercial cooking and marine galley equipment. Lang manufactures high-quality convection ovens, griddles and clamshells, charbroilers, ranges and more.
